Hydrophobic Frits:
The conventional UHMW-PE frits are hydrophobic and are often used in non-aqueous solutions such as alcohols, acids, alkalis, halogenated and aromatic compounds, and ketones.
Hydrophobic frits can be wetted by organic solvents and have been used in most commercial solid-phase extraction column products, which are convenient for filtering organic solvents.

Hydrophilic Frits
The conventionally hydrophilic UHMW-PE frits are mainly used for conventional filtration, especially for the filtration of aqueous solutions and other solutions. These Frits can effectively improve the performance of affinity chromatography columns and small chromatography columns. They have been specially treated to be wetted by aqueous solution, which can ensure a flow rate of 1-2ml/min or 1-2 drops/sec when using the gravity method. At the same time, compared with other similar products, these frits will not adsorb proteins due to the introduction of hydrophilic groups. In addition, the hydrophilic frits are not easily to form air bubbles during use, and the air bubbles will reduce the flow rate and the liquid will pass through the matrix unevenly.
